Luminary Content’s founder, Misty Curn, is a communications professional, accessibility advocate, and faith-inspired leader whose career combines expertise in communications, technology, and user experience design. She earned her undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Mary. In 2023, she completed an accelerated master’s degree in Management and Leadership through Western Governors University, a program that strengthened her professional skills and fostered deeper self-awareness and intentional leadership. Guided by her Catholic faith and a desire to make the lives of others easier, Misty brings values of integrity, service, and thoughtful decision-making to every aspect of her work.

She began her career in communications and marketing, and as websites became central to the field, she pursued a certificate in web design and development. This experience led her to the technology field, where she discovered a passion for user experience design, including information architecture, navigation planning, and content layout. Her work in UX also included content design, accessibility-focused website elements, user research, and usability testing. When she first started in website design, her first mentor emphasized that accessibility should be a core consideration in everything built, and she has carried that mindset with her.

In 2023, Misty returned to her communications roots as the Communications Director for the North Dakota Secretary of State. Her combined experience in technology, project management, analysis, strategy, and communications allows her to support effective, compliant, and accessible communication across the agency. Through Luminary Content, she shares knowledge and resources that help communicators confidently integrate accessibility into their everyday work, making digital content more usable, equitable, and effective for everyone.
